4th General meeting Agenda

1. Welcome:
Secretary welcomed every one. Attendance was taken and only 35 lamjunge were present.
2. Opening the meeting:
The meeting was opened by President and briefed about the meeting.
3. Membership form and fee:
Again, discussed about Membership fee, which is £12 for whole year. Late joiner must pay full amount for Samaj as per constitution. Life membership will start from this year, rate are as follows:
Joint (husband & family) = £200
Single (only husband or wife) = £150
Lamjunge didi bahini as “Maita” and “Purano lamjung jillabasi or chimeki naya kaski” also can be member in our samaj. I would like to remind it again that samaj fund is not for loan and donation.
Please encourage to Jilla basi to be member of our Samaj and get membership number.
4. Bank Account Open:
Bank Account’s name remains as “Lamjung-samajuk”. More information contact to Treasurer Mr Buddhiprasad Gurung.
5. Committee member:
We know that to run our samaj smoothly we need energetic, keen and helpful member. Some of our area rep has not shown interest and not attended any meeting so far. We are contacting them by written and verbal (phone) to know their interest in given post. If we don’t get back any answer from them, further discuss will be in next general meeting about this matter.
Two more area representatives are selected due to strength of our samaj community.

7. Yearly samaj event:
Discussed and confirmed that we are organising 2 events in a year, that will be one in summer and another in winter.
Winter Bhetghat night is for this year 2008 scheduled as follows:
Date: 15 November 2008 Time: 1600hrs to 2300hrs
Venue: Oakfarm Community school, Ballantyne Road, Farnborough Hampshire RG148SS
Price : Adult £10, Children age 6 to 12 £10
Summer Bhetghat for 2009 will be as follows:
Date: 21 June 2009
Time: 1100 – 2100 Hrs
Venue: TBC
8. Syora:
Syora is very common word in Gurung language but I would like to say palo paincho in Nepali, which is not donation. Three of our beloved lamjung jilla basi passed away from us in United Kingdom this year. Our samaj has done tremendous job to collect syora for them. Details are:

9. Finance brief:

10. Abhinandan ceremony:
Discussed and agreed to do abhinandan ceremony to jilla basi if they achieved as follows.
GCSE and A Level = 3 A* (Star)
Graduation
Commissioned in the forces or police.
It will only happen in winter event and please forward your children’s name if they have done it.
